Constitutiones et acta capitulorum generalium ordinis fratrum prædicatorum
1232-2001
(CD-Rom, Berlin, Digitale Bibliothek, 2002).
As the largest collection of Dominican legislative sources ever published at one time, this CD-Rom contains the text of 60 independently published volumes, for a total of some 26.000 screen pages.
This new collection includes:
-
the constitutions of the friars incorporated in Humbert of Romans's edition of the Dominican liturgical books, promulgated in 1256, as edited in Analecta sacri Ordinis Prædicatormm 3 (1897-1898) 26-60, 98-122, 162-181,
-
the constitutions of the nuns which Humbert promulgated in 1259, as edited in Analecta sacri Ordinis Prædicatorum 3 (1897-1898) 26-60, 98-122, 162-181, 337-348,
-
the edition of the Constitutions of 1690 by Master General Antonin Cloche,
-
the edition of the Constitutions of 1885 by Master General Vincent Alexandre Jandel,
-
the material assembled by Lo-Cicero in view of the updating of the constitutions, published as a revision of V. Fontana's Constitutiones, Declarationes et Ordinationes Capitulorum Generalium, Rome 1862,
-
the Rule of the Dominican Tertiaries of 1923, as published in Analecta S. Ord. Praed.16 (1923-1924) 101-112,
-
the constitutions of the Dominican nuns approved by the Holy See in 1929 (the corresponding text of the friars' constitutions is contained in the Acts of the General Chapter of Le Saulchoir, 1932),
-
the constitutions of the friars, promulgated at the General Chapter of River Forest in 1969,
-
the most recent edition of the constitutions of the friars, of 1998 by Master General Timothy Radcliffe,
-
the most recent edition of the constitutions of the nuns, approved in 1986,
-
the modern Rule of the Dominican Laity, promulgated in 1986,
-
the Acts of all General Chapters from 1232 to 2001: those from 1232 to 1844 being taken from the edition of B. M. Reichert, Monumenta Ordinis Prædicatorum Historica vols. III-IV, VHI-XIV. For reasons of economy, however, it has not been possible to retain his apparatus criticus,
-
Reichert's edition of the encyclical letters of the Masters of the Order, from the one attributed to Jordan of Saxony in 1233 up to 1322, as contained in Monumenta Ord. Præd. Hist. vol. V, likewise without his apparatus criticus.
All these texts are presented essentially as published, with the original page numbering and division into paragraphs. Variations in spelling have generally not been altered, apart from the extreme inconsistencies of the Cloche constitutions.
